Celebrating Children’s Book Week at Garcia Middle School! šŸ“šāœØ

Last week, Garcia Middle School celebrated Children’s Book Week! They brought their favorite stories to life by dressing up each day with a fun theme and students participated in creative activities throughout the week.

Students who came by the library showcased their creativity by:
Designing bookmarks to celebrate their love of reading.
Redesigning their favorite book covers, giving classic stories a fresh, personal twist.

It was inspiring to see our students share their favorite books, explore new stories, and let their imaginations shine. A big thank-you to everyone who participated and made this week so memorable! šŸŒŸšŸ“–

šŸŽ Diabetes Awareness Month! šŸ’™

Our students participated in the Go–Slow–Whoa Nutrition Game during P.E., a fun and interactive activity that helped them identify healthy food choices! šŸ„¦šŸžšŸŽ

Students took on an exciting Pac-Man challenge, racing to ā€œbeat out diabetesā€ by making healthy choices and learning the importance of balanced nutrition and physical activity. šŸ’Ŗ

šŸ—£ļø Message from Coaches Gracie Garcia, Brenda Leal, and Mario Garza:

ā€œWe are so proud of my students for giving their best during the Go–Slow–Whoa Challenge! We always remind them that staying active isn’t just about getting stronger or faster—it’s about keeping their bodies healthy on the inside, too. When we move every day, eat more GO foods like fruits, veggies, and whole grains, and limit sugary snacks, we’re building lifelong habits that help prevent diabetes and keep our energy high all day long. Keep it up, Lobos—you’re making great choices for your health!ā€ 🌟

We’re proud of our students for learning how small, smart choices can make a big difference in their lifelong health!
